Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas morning at home. Avery was up at 6 and we had to wake Cameryn up at 7. The girls were so excited and had fun going through their stockings and opening presents. I got two canvas ' of our family pictures from Kevin that I'm really excited to hang up. After playing with their new toys, we loaded up and headed to Amherst to celebrate with my family. We had a delicious prime rib dinner and then opened presents.

Christmas Eve

We had a great Christmas Eve! It started out by going to church and Cameryn singing in the children's choir. They sang before church started and then throughout the entire mass. We then came home and celebrated with the Secrests and Aunt Marge with dinner and presents. Before bed, the girls sprinkled reindeer food and left cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.

Cookie Tradition

My family came to visit one weekend in December and we made our yummy family sugar cookies. Lindsey and I have made these with my mom for years! My moms gotten pretty smart after years with her being the last one standing and tons of cookies left to frost. She makes a much smaller batch and bakes some of them ahead of time. All 3 of the girls had lots of fun frosting and decorating. Lots and lots of sprinkles seemed to be a common theme! :)

Gingerbread Houses

Cameryn made her own gingerbread house at school this year. She had a lot of fun decorating it and adding a snowman, pool, walkway, and other landscaping.  She was a little upset though that she couldn't eat it. The girls then made one together at home. They actually got along well and complimented each other and we were able to eat it when we were done!

HO! HO! HO!

The girls got to visit Santa a couple of times this year. First, we went to Bass Pro and then we went to a breakfast with Santa. To our surprise both girls enjoyed Santa this year. Avery has not been a fan in the past but this year she did great. I think she understands that if she wants presents she needs to make nice with him. :)

Elf Antics

Anne the Elf made her appearance back at the Secrest household a few days after Thanksgiving.  She brought the girls reindeer slippers to celebrate the start of Christmas season. She also bought herself a fancy dress to wear. She has done some silly things like eat a lot of our Halloween candy and write Be Good in toothpaste on the bathroom mirror. She also had to leave a warning letter though about naughty behavior. Hoping it helps us make it to Christmas!
